Lawyers for power and cell-phone companies like to hire expert witnesses from Ivy-league schools and proclaim that those experts deserve preference in belief. That argument strikes the true scientist as strangely petty, but he does not see the effect it has on jurors who commonly think that superior knowledge is taught at Harvard and Yale.
